On March 1, 2023, the EUnetHorse project was launched with the aim of:
- Improving profitability, working conditions and development of the industry related to the horse market;
- Improving the welfare and health of horses to meet social expectations;
- Improving the biological sustainability of farms related to the breeding and use of horses, in order to preserve natural resources and reduce costs.
The Institute of Animal Genetics and Biotechnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences is the leader of the thematic area "Welfare and health of horses" (Aleksandra Górecka-Bruzda, PhD DSc) and the subtask implementing existing solutions (Dorota Lewczuk, PhD DSc) in response to the needs of horse breeders and users in all partner countries ( France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Finland and Switzerland).
