On 11-12th June 2018 in Warsaw, Poland, took place the East and West Central Europe Regional Meeting of International Society of Applied Ethology (ISAE) entitled “Animal preferences and animal welfare”. It was organised by Aleksandra Górecka-Bruzda, PhD, DSc and co-workers from the Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding PAS and co-organised by Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS and Polish Ethological Society. In the meeting, dedicated mainly to students and young researchers, more than 40 participants from Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Ukraine, Serbia, Macedonia and France were present. This event was an excellent opportunity for young scientists to develop international contacts and exchange information. Thanks to ISAE grants (OPP Regional Meeting), most of participants from less wealthy countries could attend this event.
