HR Excellence in Research

We are pleased to announce that Institute was awarded prestigious „HR Excellence in Research” logo.

The European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers are the documents resulting from the recommendation of the European Commission from 11 March 2005, which contain regulations of the principles and requirements for researchers and employers. Moreover, above documents contain regulations and requirements which should be considered by employers in the recruitment procedure.

 The Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding of the Polish Academy of Sciences has applied for the HR Excellence in Research logo awarded by the European Commission to institutions which implement rules of the "European Charter for Researchers" and the "Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers".

Mission

The mission of the Institute is to conduct scientific research and disseminate knowledge in the field of animal genetics and biotechnology for the benefit of innovation, biological progress and food security and for the development of the economy and improvement of the life quality of society.

Vision

IGAB PAS intends to be one of the leading institutes in the field of animal genetics, breeding and biotechnology in Europe. This is possible through the introduction of modern research directions, based on highly qualified scientific staff, specialized research laboratories and extensive foreign cooperation.

Strategic aims

• Recruitment of qualified scientific staff with professional experience obtained in renowned foreign scientific units
• Logo HR Excellence in Research as very important element of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers. IGAB PAS aims to become internationally attractive employer which attract ambitious and motivated scientists from Poland and abroad. The implementation of HRS4R is considered as strategic aim of the Institute and has been included in the list of annual aims approved within the managerial control system of the Institute
• Creation of new core-facility labs
• Close cooperation with leading foreign research institutes
• Significant increase in the number of publications in the highest-ranked scientific journals
• Participation in the Animal Task Force Expert Team in Brussels and development of a key EU strategic documents in the field of animal science
